Nigma Galaxy hit with visa issues before FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2
Nigma Galaxy have been hit with visa issues for two players as they head towards FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 later in the month.
With a busy schedule of tournaments to close out the year, many teams might find themselves with player fatigue. However, for Nigma Galaxy, they find themselves with a different issue. As FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 approaches, a LAN tournament in Belgrade, Serbia, the team have run into visa issues. Although this may eventually be the case for a few players attempting to enter the country, Nigma is the first to make preparations for the upcoming event.
MinD_ContRoL is back with Nigma
Nigma Galaxy had a rather amazing run at The International 2025, eventually finishing in fifth/sixth place. However, shortly after Maroun “GH” Merhej announced his break from competitive Dota 2. The team brought in a trial player, Tobias “Tobi” Buchner, to fill the gap, while Daniel Chan “Ghost” Kok Hong continued to perform position 1 duties for the squad. Unfortunately, the team will be heading into their next tournament, FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2, with 2 more stand-ins.

Confirmed via the team’s X account, both Tony “No!ob” Assaf and Omar “OmaR” Moughrabi would be unable to attend the event due to visa issues. In their places for the tournament would be Kirill "Hellscream" Lagutik, as well as the return of Ivan "MinD_ContRoL" Ivanov. While Hellscream’s experience has come mostly with Shopify Rebellion, he did recently feature on Yellow Submarine during FISSURE Universe: Episode 7.
On the other hand, Mind_Control was once a very well-known fixture on the Nigma lineup, as well as part of Team Liquid’s TI 2017 winning roster alongside GH and Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi.
The full Nigma Galaxy roster for FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 is:
- Daniel "Ghost" Chan
- Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan
- Ivan "MinD_ContRoL" Ivanov
- Kirill "Hellscream" Lagutik
- Tobias "Tobi" Buchner
We are excited to see Mind_Control back in action, having not seen him play, except for a few attempts at qualifiers with smaller rosters. With Nigma looking for a big end to 2025, FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 is lining up to be a great place to start.
