MOUZ take down Falcons to become first team qualified for DreamLeague Season 28
MOUZ are set for a busy February after securing their place at the first two major tournaments of 2026. Following their invite at BLAST Slam VI, the team has now become the first to qualify for DreamLeague Season 28.
DreamLeague Season 28 will run from February 16 to March 1, featuring 16 teams competing for a $1,000,000 prize pool and 23,090 ESL Pro Tour (EPT) points. As the second major event of the year, only six of the 16 participants received direct invites based on their position on the EPT leaderboard.
The competitive landscape has shifted significantly. Team Falcons, once the uncontested EPT leaders, entered the Season 28 qualifiers ranked seventh with 1,000 points, just behind Tundra Esports. The current leaders are Team Yandex, who earned 3,548 points by winning the previous DreamLeague season.
Thus, Team Falcons were forced to fight through the Western European qualifiers for a chance at the $1 million event. The region is highly competitive, and despite four qualification slots being available, the battle is never easy. Contenders include MOUZ, Team Liquid, Nigma Galaxy, Natus Vincere, and Team Falcons themselves.
MOUZ and Team Falcons both won their opening series in the double-elimination bracket—MOUZ over Natus Vincere and Falcons over Team Lynx, setting up a semifinal clash where the first ticket to DreamLeague Season 28 was on the line.
MOUZ vs. Team Falcons: 2-1
Game 1: Falcons started the series by focusing all their efforts on shutting down MOUZ’s safe lane duo Gyrocopter and Chen. Just seven minutes in, both heroes had died twice, and Falcons looked in full control as they continued to hunt down Remco "Crystallis" Arets across the map to make sure his item progression is slowed as much as possible.
However, while Crystallis struggled, Miroslav "BOOM" Bičan on offlane Brewmaster quietly became the key to MOUZ's comeback, securing the victory even after losing two lanes of barracks.
Game 2: Falcons bounced back hard, crushing MOUZ in under 20 minutes through flawless execution from Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak on Razor and Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf on Night Stalker.
Game 3: The decisive final game featured a position 4 Pudge and carry Clinkz from MOUZ, but the true difference-maker was Yeik "MidOne" Nai Zheng on a mid-lane Leshrac. He rushed a Guardian Greaves, completing the item just 11 minutes in. This allowed him to set a high-tempo pace from which Falcons could never recover, securing MOUZ their spot at DreamLeague Season 28.
With this victory, MOUZ had locked in a demanding schedule, competing at BLAST Slam VI in early February followed by DreamLeague Season 28. The regional closed qualifiers for DreamLeague continue this weekend across all six major regions, so stay tuned to rdy.gg for more news and updates.
