LGD Gaming survive but another series is rescheduled at the Esports World Cup 2026

After we saw two teams eliminated from the Esports World Cup 2026 in the first half of the day in the Survival Stage, we were meant to see another two eliminated in the second half of the day. However, we would only get to see one series, LGD Gaming taking on MOUZ, as they went in search of a victory to stay alive in the event.
The second series, featuring Vici Gaming and PTime, was rescheduled. With no reasoning except for an “integrity issue”, the series would be decided at another time.
LGD Gaming halt a MOUZ comeback
LGD Gaming’s brilliance had already been tested in the EWC 2026, when Santiago Olivos “TaiLung” Agüero Gustavo survived a 1v1 Tiebreaker over Abed "Abed" Yusop during the Group Stage. This gave the team the third-place finish in Group D, leaving Virtus.pro in fourth. However, today much more was on the line, and he had his full team behind him, which was the perfect opportunity for a Huskar pick in game 1.
Although crushing MOUZ and taking a 1-0 lead, LGD found a much tougher second game of the series. With a lot of back-and-forth, it was just not going MOUZ’s way, as an Adrián “Wisper” Céspedes Dobles Largo sported an unconventional Radiance to help LGD take a huge 2-0 victory.
While LGD moves forward to the second day of Survival Stage where they will face BetBoom Team, MOUZ is eliminated from the EWC 2026. At the current time of writing, there is still no further information on the Vici versus PTime series but tomorrow will see another set of eliminations from the event.
