Get rdy: Competitive guide for October 19-25th
A new week is upon us and that means events and competitive matches will be gearing up or winding down. With this season's packed schedule it is easy to miss something, so we've compiled a weekly planning guide to keep track of what is going on.
League of Legends
Demacia Cup Global Invitational
The LCS shocked many by having FlyQuest advance to the playoffs of this final non-Worlds tournament of the LoL Season. But with a plethora of Korean and Chinese teams ready to end the west’s run at the DCGI, can the LEC and LCS teams weather the storm?
Worlds 2026
Worlds 2026 kicks off this week, late on the evening of Oct. 15 with the underdog play-in teams taking the stage. Four teams will battle through this double elimination stage, but only one of Cloud9, Karmine Corp, FURIA, and MVK Esports can make the cut.
Promotion Tournaments
The promotion tournaments wrap up this week, with streamer-backed Disguised (DSG) taking on collegiate power Maryville for a chance to enter the LCS and LOS fighting to return to the CBLOL against KaBuM! IDL.

Counter-Strike 2
It's the least, interesting time, of the yeeeeear!
Okay, that's a stretch, but it's time we have to care about these small LANS just set up for VRS points and pretend it matters if 100 Thieves make it to the Major or not. Their loss to HEROIC makes that much less likely, for what it's worth.
We have 1win Private Club and DraculaN to follow, with the big story being FaZe who need to show they aren't totally shot just yet. They missed the last Major, and this one is imperative.

Dota 2
PARI Universe which starts on October 22nd, which is the next big event to happen. It is a Tier 1 event featuring ten teams competing for $250,000. It features the likes of Astra Invicta (KuroKy's team of Nightfall, lorenof, DM, Omar and GH), Team Yandex, PARIVISION, Team Liquid, 1win and others.
The group stage will take place through the 26th where two teams will be eliminated.
Regional Affairs
Local and regional fans have very little treats on the menu this week.
South America
NEXUS SERIES II is an online event taking place in South America featuring 12 teams and $20,000. Team Cobra and Amaru Gaming are competing, but oddly enough so are a few European teams such as Team Lynx, Team Synapse featuring TA2000, and Zero Tenacity. The event kicked off on October 15th and ends on November 1st. It's still too early in the group stage to know how things will shake out.
Europe
EPL Masters III features 16 teams from Western and Eastern Europe competing for the lion's share of the $100,000 prize pool. The group stage started yesterday, October 18th and will continue through the 25th. Only the two teams from each group (four teams total) will survive and advance to join four invited teams (yet to be determined) to the playoffs.
