Get rdy: Competitive guide for October 12-18th
A new week is upon us and that means events and competitive matches will be gearing up or winding down. With this season's packed schedule it is easy to miss something, so we've compiled a weekly planning guide to keep track of what is going on.
League of Legends
Demacia Cup Global Invitational
The LCS shocked many by having FlyQuest advance to the playoffs of this final non-Worlds tournament of the LoL Season. But with a plethora of Korean and Chinese teams ready to end the west’s run at the DCGI, can the LEC and LCS teams weather the storm?
Worlds 2026
Worlds 2026 kicks off this week, late on the evening of Oct. 15 with the underdog play-in teams taking the stage. Four teams will battle through this double elimination stage, but only one of Cloud9, Karmine Corp, FURIA, and MVK Esports can make the cut.
Promotion Tournaments
The promotion tournaments wrap up this week, with streamer-backed Disguised (DSG) taking on collegiate power Maryville for a chance to enter the LCS and LOS fighting to return to the CBLOL against KaBuM! IDL.

Counter-Strike 2
Can every event be in the Spodek?
Okay, so it was another Vitality win, MOUZ bottling it on stage as ever, whatever. We just missed the arena. It's the best place in the world for Counter-Strike.
Thunderpick World Championship 2026
Instead we now have to watch an event in Malta, which as we all know is a horrible place. Glistening sun, blue water and no taxes. Horrible.
Spirit and Falcons are the top two at Thunderpick, and you know that that means it will be joga bonito. Two top teams who are unreliable but explosive. Get them in the final ASAP. We will be there.

Dota 2
BLAST Slam Circuit saw Team Yandex successfully defended their crown AND take their second consecutive championship title since the new season began mere weeks ago. We'll see if they can keep up their winning streak at PARI Universe which starts on October 22nd, which is the next big event to happen.
Regional Affairs
Local and regional fans have very little treats on the menu this week.
South America
NEXUS SERIES II is an online event taking place in South America featuring 12 teams and $20,000. Team Cobra and Amaru Gaming are competing, but oddly enough so are a few European teams such as Team Lynx, Team Synapse featuring TA2000, and Zero Tenacity. The event kicks off on October 15th and ends on November 1st.
Qualifiers
BLAST SLAM IX Chinese qualifiers will start with open quals on October 13 and again on the 14th before heading into the close qualifiers on October 15th. Only one team will secure a ticket to BLAST SLAM IX taking place fully online in November.
DreamLeague Season 30 open qualifiers began for four regions: EEU, WEU, SEA, and SA on October 10th. The second round takes place today, October 11th and tomorrow. The closed qualifiers will then happen immediately after with SA, EEU, and China happening October 13-15th while SEA and WEU will be from October 15-17th. The main event doesn't take place until early December.
EPL Masters III: Play-In features 12 invited teams from Western and Eastern Europe. A total of eight teams will advance to the main event which boasts a $100,000 prize pool and a mix of 16 invited and qualified teams from the region starting on the 18th of October.
