Get rdy: Competitive guide for June 29th-July 5th

Get rdy with me; The upcoming weekly planner for competitive matches.

A new week is upon us and that means events and competitive matches will be gearing up or winding down. With this season's packed schedule it is easy to miss something, so we've compiled a weekly planning guide to keep track of what is going on.

League of Legends

MSI

The Mid Season invitational is in full swing, but in terms of crazy outcomes or surprise upsets, we’re sadly sparse. T1 bodied Team Liquid in the opening game, before Karmine Corp scored their first MSI victory against Taiwan’s Deep Cross Gaming, both 3-0 victories.

Day Two didn’t deliver much more in terms of surprises as T1 again scored a 3-0 victory, this time against Karmine Korp, while Team Liquid staved off elimination by defeating Deep Cross Gaming and sending the LCP team home.

The MSI Play-In continues throughout this week, with the winner headed to the main event, where ideally, more competitive clashes will take place.

LoL Classic

The big news out of Riot Games is the reveal of LoL Classic. A throwback version of League, Classic will give players older player models, mechanics, and items, ranging from approximately Season 1 to Season 4 of the game (around 09’-14’).

While some critics have said the game mode will just prove how bad older versions of the game are, many are excited for the chance to relive the glory days of a simpler time in LoL history.

MSI continues over the next two weeks, and fittingly, LoL Classic’s full reveal will come during the MSI finals on July 11.

Counter-Strike 2

We're deep into rostermania now, and if you don't want to miss anything we have the tracker that should be updated throughout the summer. We've seen some big, big moves already with FaZe replacing broky and G2 replacing SunPayus, and it's looking like a AWPer shuffle summer so far.

There's not much in the way of Counter-Strike to look forward to, but there's rumours beginning to swirl around NAVI and Legacy, with MOUZ still in need of a player.

If it gets a bit hot this week, it's probably the roster merry-go-round spinning at breakneck speed causing it.

Dota 2

Qualifiers

The International closed qualifiers have officially come to an end, and all teams that will be heading to Shanghai, China in August have been determined.

But there are still more qualifiers happening this week. Instead of the ultra high-stakes matches for The International, the focus shifts on national representation.

Esports Nations Cup 2026 qualifiers begin today, Monday, June 29th and will continue through July 4th. At least 16 teams will earn their place to compete for their country in Riyadh, November 2nd-8th. There is $1,864,000 on the line.

Fans can channel their FIFA World Cup energy into cheering for various pro players competing with alongside their fellow countrymen for a change of pace.
