Get rdy: Competitive guide for August 3rd-9th

A new week is upon us and that means events and competitive matches will be gearing up or winding down. With this season's packed schedule it is easy to miss something, so we've compiled a weekly planning guide to keep track of what is going on.

League of Legends

LCK

Despite internal turmoil, T1 have surged to the top of the table in the LCK, surpassing KT Rolster and Hanwha Life Esports. All three teams have a 15-5 record, but T1’s individual series record of 32-12 has pushed them to the lead.

This coming week, the team will have to maintain their top spot as more reports about the team’s behind the scenes situation emerge.

LEC

In the LEC Karmine Corp continues its undefeated run after defeating NAVI in week 2. KC will have another challenge later this week against Team Heretics, but are again favorites in that match. If the team manages to go 5-0 in two weeks, it will be the most successful start to a split the organization has ever had.

LCS

After a week of dramatic tank picks in the bottom lane, mostly with the LCS to blame, the region has normalized after Week 2 of the split. Team Liquid and LYON lead the league with 2-0 records, but have a long season ahead before they can start to consider a spot at Worlds 2025. They face FlyQuest and Dignitas, respectively, this weekend.

League Classic

League of Legends Classic has launched to mixed critical reception, but overall appears to have captured the attention of many with its nostalgia ladened presentation. From throwback broadcasts to classic streamers returning to play the mode, the launch of Classic has been a success. Its longevity remains to be seen.

Counter-Strike 2

As early as things start to look up, they quickly fall.

Four glorious days of LAN CS culminated in a much-needed win for MOUZ, who strolled past a lacklustre Team Spirit en route to a first trophy in their debut with this roster, which left us with few answers and many questions, largely "why didn't Team Spirit make any changes?".

And now, silence. A week off. A whole week! EWC doesn't start until the 12th, so you're left with Stake Pulse Beat and BetBoom Storm Season for the true Watchers. We won't judge. We get it. We just don't feel the same.

Dota 2

1win Essence II has finished the groupstage portion of the event and will now shift into the playoffs. MOUZ and Nigma Galaxy have been eliminated so far, as the rest of the eight teams will continue to battle it out over the next two days for the title and trophy. This is the last stop for all eight remianing teams before The International kicks off next week.

Regional Affairs

Local and regional fans have some treats on the menu this week.

Europe

EPL Masters I: began July 26th. There are 16 European teams competing for a slice of the $100,000 prize pool. MOUZ, GLYPH, Rune Eaters, Power Rangers and Team Bald will all be aiming for the trophy, to be determined in a best-of-three grand finals on August 12th.

Southeast Asia

Lunar Horse Trophy 8 began on Sunday, July 19th and will continue through the August 6th. It features eight regional teams competing online for $15,000.
