Falcons and Tundra secure playoffs semifinals slots at BLAST Slam IV
BLAST Slam IV group stage is done and dusted, with both Falcons and Tundra making a splash in the best-of-one round robin marathon.
Both teams finished the group stage with a 9-2 record and will advance directly to the playoffs semifinals, which are scheduled for next month in front of a live audience at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. For Tundra, this means returning to the venue where they lifted the Aegis over three years ago, when they became The International 2022 Champions.
However, much has changed within the team since Tundra’s dominant TI run in the Singapore Indoor Stadium. It’s only Neta "33" Shapira still fighting under the Tundra banner three years later. Some of his former teammates are now at Falcons, the fresh TI 2025 champions who seem to be just as motivated at the start of the new season as they were at The International only a month ago.
Although they made no roster changes after their TI victory in September, Falcons’ nearly flawless group stage performance at BLAST Slam IV is impressive considering that their carry player, Oliver "skiter" Lepko, suffered an elbow fracture just before the tournament was set to start. He missed the first round of matches in the group stage, yet Falcons still went 3-0 on the opening day with Alan "Satanic" Gallyamov standing in for them at the last minute.
