All teams confirmed for the Esports World Cup 2026

As the Esports World Cup 2026 approaches, twelve Dota 2 teams secured themselves a direct invite into the upcoming event.

While the Esports World Cup 2026 has been moved to Paris, France, it has not taken anything away from the grandeur of the event. This year, 12 Dota 2 teams were given a direct invite, but these came through the ESL Pro Tour Points System. With DreamLeague Season 27, 28, and 29, as well as ESL One Birmingham 2026 all contributing points, teams were able to lock in and avoid the regional qualifiers.

With all events over, the road to the EWC 2026 is now upon us, as DreamLeague Season 29’s playoffs gave us the final teams to secure a direct invite.

The road to the EWC 2026

We are only a little over a month away from the beginning of the Dota 2 tournament at the Esports World Cup 2026. But, for the last few months, ranging all the way back to DreamLeague Season 27 in December of 2025, teams have been acquiring points, trying to secure a direct invite into the event. Now, as the event draws near, those 12 teams have been confirmed, while the remainder of the competition will be filled through regional qualifiers and last year’s reigning champion.

With the final event to secure points being the recently concluded DreamLeague Season 29, the last teams managed to secure their spot. The list of directly invited teams to the EWC 2026 is:

  • Tundra Esports
  • PARIVISION
  • Aurora Gaming
  • Xtreme Gaming
  • Team Yandex
  • Team Falcons
  • Team Liquid
  • BetBoom Team
  • MOUZ
  • PlayTime
  • OG
  • Virtus.pro

Apart from these 12 teams, Team Spirit is also already a confirmed addition to the tournament, as the defending champions from 2025.

With a total of 24 teams entering the tournament, the remaining slots will be filled through regional qualifiers. While each region has a varied number of available slots, China’s qualifier has already concluded, with Vici Gaming securing their spot for the event. This leaves 10 teams a chance in the upcoming qualifiers.

The remaining regional qualifiers get underway in the coming weeks, as teams now will be hoping to stamp their name in for the main event at the EWC 2026. With the direct invites for The International 2026 now also out, the EWC stands as the perfect event for teams to prepare and showcase their talents.
