All rdy: Your weekly recap of October 27-November 2nd

Nothing is ever stagnant or dull when it comes to the Dota 2 scene. Amidst the constant swirl of drama, tournaments, patches, and roster swaps, there’s always something unfolding behind the stage. From surprise upsets and standout performances to off-stage hiccups, each week brings a fresh mix of chaos and exctiment to our favorite (and often times most hated) game.
Tournaments
FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2
Last week, FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 dominated the Dota 2 conversation, especially as the playoffs began with two major upsets—Team Yandex and MOUZ toppling Tundra and Falcons, respectively.
What started as a shaky run for the reigning The International 2025 champions, Falcons—who were forced to use a stand-in for skiter after he injured his arm during the group stage and later faced a brief scare over malr1ne’s eligibility—quickly turned into one of the more dramatic storylines of the event.
Falcons started the tournament strong, landing three victories in a row in the modified Swiss group stage format. However, the playoffs began with an upset, as MOUZ sent them to the lower bracket. But it was there that Falcons refound their rhythm, storming through the lower bracket and capping off their redemption arc with a commanding 3–1 victory over BetBoom Team, securing the first LAN trophy of the new season in true champion fashion.
Teams and Rosters
Team Spirit
Team Spirit has launched a Dota 2 academy, with roster information appearing on Liquipedia on November 1st. While there has been no official word from the organisation, the team is slated to compete in the upcoming CIS Battle 3 tournament starting on November 3rd.
This is the first academy team for the two-time The International championship organisation.
OG
After a string of disappointing results in at least five different qualifiers this season so far, OG parted ways with their roster. This news came only one week after the organisation announced the end of its collaboration with the South American Dota 2 roster.
