All rdy: Your weekly recap of November 24-30th
Nothing is ever stagnant or dull when it comes to the Dota 2 scene. Amidst the constant swirl of drama, tournaments, patches, and roster swaps, there’s always something unfolding behind the stage. From surprise upsets and standout performances to off-stage hiccups, each week brings a fresh mix of chaos and exctiment to our favorite (and often times most hated) game.
Tournaments
With the Group Stage of BLAST Slam V wrapped up, the spotlight shifted to the Last Chance Playoffs and the Play-In stage. Two teams were knocked out in the Last Chance round, and four more saw their tournament runs end in the Play-Ins. It was a brutal day for Chinese Dota 2, as every team from the region was eliminated before reaching the Chengdu playoffs. In the end, OG, Team Yandex, Natus Vincere, and MOUZ survived the gauntlet and secured their spots alongside Team Falcons and Tundra Esports — who dominated the Group Stage and became the first teams to qualify for Chengdu, China on Friday, December 5th.
Teams and Players
Virtus.pro
Virtus.pro continues to make adjustments to its roster. Last week, the organization announced that Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek would reunite with some of his former Shopify Rebellion teammates as he joined the team, replacing Nikita “Daxak” Kuzmin, who was released earlier this month.
Now, Virtus.pro has also parted ways with Vladislav “Antares” Kertman, the last remaining Russian player on the lineup, and brought in Kirill “Hellscream” Lagutik as his replacement.
The Belarusian support player has been active in the CIS scene for several years, and even spent ten months on trial with Shopify Rebellion recently, playing alongside Enzo “Timado” Gianoli.
The newly revamped roster will make its debut under the Virtus.pro banner at DreamLeague Season 27, which will run online from December 10 to 21.

TaiLung Mafia
In South American Dota 2, it appears that the TaiLung Mafia roster has been signed by a new organization. The news was revealed on the latest episode of La Sopa Podcast, which also confirmed that much of the staff involved are the same people who worked with beastcoast during their four consecutive TI appearances.
The team is currently bootcamping in Armenia as they prepare for upcoming events.
An official announcement, including the team’s new name, is expected later this week.
Rumors
It appears that the Philippines have thrown their hat into the ring with a bid to host The International 2027, part of the government’s push to boost both tourism and the country’s growing esports industry.
The news follows an advertisement spotted about a month ago promoting hopes for a Manila TI.
Meanwhile, The International 2026 has already been confirmed for Shanghai, China, returning to the city for the first time since 2019 — the year OG secured their historic second consecutive championship.
