Past champions fall
We have seen various teams become champions at multiple tournaments in 2025. With the year coming to a close, some of these teams have fallen at DreamLeague Season 27. Having conquered PGL Wallachia Season 6 recently, MOUZ succumbed to a tough Group Stage. With a surprising lose to Natus Vincere, the team’s record dropped below the par. Joining them on the outskirts would be BetBoom Team, Team Liquid, HEROIC, and Team Tidebound – all of which have won different tournaments throughout the year.
Furthermore, newcomers such as Amaru Gaming, GamerLegion, and Team Nemesis were all unable to secure a spot in the playoffs. For these 16 teams, 2025’s Dota 2 year is all but done, as they watch the final Tier 1 tournament come to a close from the sidelines.

The top 8 have it all to play for
Reaching the final 8 at DreamLeague Season 27 was no easy feat. Even the best teams would lose at least one series, with nobody going completely unbeaten. However, there were some big surprises, with OG taking the top seed, even managing to beat Team Spirit on their journey. Other surprises in the final 8 include Xtreme Gaming, Virtus.pro, and PARIVISION, all who have a point to prove this late in the year.

Unfortunately, we won’t see any Largo coming out into Captain’s Mode just yet.
