All directly invited teams for the Esports World Cup 2025

The Esports World Cup is a month away, and 10 of the 16 teams participating have already been confirmed.
The Esports World Cup 2025 will kick off in just a few weeks. With a massive prize pool of $3,000,000 and 16 teams, the Dota 2 event side has always created a ton of hype. This year is no different, as 9 teams secured a direct invite to the event, with another 7 coming through various regional qualifiers.
With that in mind, we take a look at which teams cruised their way through the EPT points rankings to claim their spot at the EWC. And the teams that have recently come through via the same points or qualifiers.

EPT, or ESL Pro Tour, is a system adopted by Dota 2 to track the points that teams can gather to gain direct invites into tournaments. Different tournaments, such as ESL and DreamLeague, offer EPT points to teams depending on their placements. This translates into invites to the EWC.
For this, DreamLeague Season 24, 25, and 26, as well as ESL One Bangkok and Raleigh, paved the way forward for teams to gain points. Below is the list of every team that managed to finish in the top 8 of the rankings and are confirmed for EWC 2025.
- Parivision
- BetBoom Team
- Team Spirit
- Team Falcons
- Team Liquid
- Tundra Esports
- Talon Esports
- Aurora Gaming
PARIVISION dominated the points tally, winning 3 of the 5 tournaments along their journey. However, for both Talon and Aurora, their achievements at the recent Dream League Season 26 were enough to push them into the top 8. This put them both ahead of teams such as AVULUS and Nigma Galaxy.
Gaimin Gladiators to defend their title
While Gaimin Gladiators fell short on points throughout the EPT, the team was the champions of the Riyadh Masters 2024. With the tournament technically being the same, the team received a direct invite as the reigning champions. This means that they will have a chance to defend their title.
Qualifiers are on the way
While the EWC 2025 is still a month away, the regional qualifiers are just around the corner. Many huge teams will be fighting through these, such as OG, Nigma Galaxy, and Virtus.pro. However, at the same time, we will see only a single Chinese team entering the event, with Xtreme Gaming managing to fight off Team Tidebound (now All Gamers Global) in the grand final of the Asian Champions League 2025.
With the qualifiers on the way and a total of 10 teams of the 16 confirmed, everything is heating up in the Dota 2 scene. While Valve has been dropping quite a few updates along the way, the meta is constantly shifting, as teams try out new strategies. And, with a huge prize pool of $3,000,000 on the line, the EWC is a great place to pull out all the stops before The International 2025.
