Unpacking China Dota history at TI with Bkop
We met with Benjamin "Bkop" Kopilow at The International 2025 and couldn’t miss the opportunity to talk to him about what he loves the most: Chinese Dota.
Bkop was a part of the English broadcast talent for the group stage matches this year at The International. As soon as those were over, he flew from the US and came to witness the CN Dota resurgence live from the Barclays Arena in Hamburg, Germany. It was the best year CN Dota had had since 2021, when PSG.LGD played a full best-of-five against Team Spirit. That was the second time Wang "Ame" Chunyu would lose a TI grand final. It was also the last time a TI grand final would go the full length until this year, when Ame was once again one game away from fulfilling his dream.
Ahead of the finals day in Hamburg, we went down the memory lane with Bkop and relived some of the key moments in Chinese Dota 2 history, but from a personal perspective. Much like any other TI he has been to, Bkop came prepared with a bunch of team jackets and jerseys. Some he gave away in the arena, some he proudly wore on the playoff days as the two Chinese teams at TI2025, Team Tidebound and Xtreme Gaming, were advancing deeper into the bracket.
Have you ever wondered how he got to own a vintage ViCi Gaming jacket or the LGD quarter zipper t-shirt? What’s the history behind all these legendary outfits, and who wore them when? Find out all that and much more in the video below.
