Day 2 of The International 2025’s playoffs kicked off with a massive upset as HEROIC dumped Tundra Esports out of the tournament.

After a blistering Day 1 at The International 2025, it was time for the tournament to see its first playoff stage elimination. While HEROIC’s journey is an underdog story, Tundra are no strangers to the playoffs. However, with both going 0-2 in their upper bracket opening series, one would see their TI 2025 journey end today.

HEROIC's swan song TI 2025 adventure continues

Wanting to continue to fly the South American Dota flag high, HEROIC arrived in the lower bracket with gusto. With a greedy draft featuring Batrider, Ursa, and Earthshaker, the SA team blew the roof off the arena and sent Tundra reeling. On the brink of elimination, Tundra needed something special to fight back.

However, the Yuma “Yuma” Langlet Pudge came out as the first pick in game 2. Although fairly even, Tundra began to fall behind as HEROIC found their footing in teamfights. It took one huge teamfight at 46-minutes for the victory to be decided. As the dust settled, Tundra would throw in the towel, becoming the first team eliminated in the TI 2025 playoffs. A superb buyback from Adrián “Wisper” Céspedes Dobles’ Phoenix with a clutch Supernova going through on the last tick helped HEROIC to a massive upset.

With that, Tundra Esports exit The International 2025, finishing in seventh/eighth place. For HEROIC, they now secure themselves a guaranteed top 6 spot – but the tournament will only get more difficult from here on out. But, the South American Dota 2 fans and hundreds more within the stadium are behind them as they look to make history.
