TI 2025 Elimination Round: Spirit, Liquid, PARIVISION, and Falcons to play for survival

Sunday, September 7, 2025, is all about elimination matches. Four more teams will see their TI dream cut short, and to everyone’s surprise, the biggest contenders at this year’s Aegis are in the elimination round.

Team Liquid, the defending Champions, will fight for their survival today. The team that most of the fans saw as the biggest favourite at the title, Team Spirit, have also landed in the elimination series. Their biggest rivals, PARIVISION, who have dominated the entire season leading to TI 2025, are also going to have to fight for their tournament life today, along with Team Falcons, who, despite delivering some of the most tense matches in the group stage, couldn’t escape the elimination round.

TI 2025 Elimination Round matchups

The day is set to begin at 10:00 CEST with Aurora taking on Nigma Galaxy, and will end with what could have been the grand finals, Team Spirit vs Team Falcons. The last series is particularly a shocking surprise as Falcons and Team Spirit clashed in the last two grand finals ahead of The International 2025.

The TI grand finals that could have been

Team Spirit took home the Esports World Cup championship title in July by besting Falcons 3-0 in the grand finals, while the latter exacted revenge in August when they swept Spirit 3-0 in the FISSURE Universe: Episode 6. Overall, Falcons have played seven grand finals, winning three of those in the season leading up to this moment. They also placed fourth at The International 2024 and have made no roster changes since then. Team Spirit played five grand finals this year, winning three of them.

Falcons and Spirit have clashed in 36 official games this season, with Falcons holding a slight edge over Spirit with a 21-15 score. It’s a pity to see these two clashing now in the elimination round at TI, with the end result being that one of them will not be making it to the Barclays Arena for the playoffs stage.
