Day 2 of The International 2025 came with 12 more series, but more importantly, one of these would unfortunately spell elimination for a Southeast Asian team.

After three series of Dota 2 at The International 2025, both Southeast Asian representatives found themselves without a series win. Team Nemesis and BOOM Esports definitely came into TI with high hopes, although underdogs. After two defeats each on Day 1, they needed to find some resilience to prove that they could stand against the best. However, losing in Round 3 sent both teams into an elimination series – with the losing team being the first to leave TI 2025.

BOOM! Nemesis exit TI 2025

We are only on the second day of TI 2025’s Group Stage, but today we would see the first elimination. Although both Nemesis and BOOM had some thrilling series, with splendid plays, they never managed to close things out.

Game 1 saw Nemesis struggle to really find their footing. As Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong’s Axe giving a dominating performance, BOOM blasted through their SEA brethren in under half an hour. With their backs against the wall, Nemesis now needed to pull out all the stops to avoid early elimination.

With a better draft in the next game, Nemesis picked up four initiating heroes. But, even with that, they were constantly on the backfoot of skirmishes in the early game. On the other side of things, BOOM had solidified, managing to bring their supports into team fights whenever necessary. In the same amount of time as the previous game, BOOM closed out the series, surviving Da 2 of the Group Stages.

Unfortunately for Nemesis, their TI 2025 journey ends here, as they are the first team eliminated from the event. For BOOM, they will now need to survive Round 5 if they want a chance to reach the main stage. There are still more series going on today, but Day 3 will bring more eliminations and the final round of the Group Stage at TI 2025.
