Vici Gaming disbands their roster after a poor TI 2026

The International 2026 has not been the best display of Dota 2 from the three Chinese teams involved in a homeground event. Before the playoffs had even kicked off, all three teams were eliminated, leaving the region with only the pleasure of hosting the winning team in a week. With that in mind, only a few hours after their defeat and elimination, Vici Gaming’s roster has disbanded.

A swift post-TI disband

Towards the end of 2025, and in the early parts of 2026, VG made their triumphant return to the forefront of the Dota 2 professional scene. With a lineup featuring the likes of Zhang “Bach” Ruida and Zhang “y`” Yiping of Wings Gaming fame, they hoped to reignite the CN region. Although early results were not entirely anything fantastic, the team managed to qualify to multiple tournaments, including the Esports World Cup and TI 2026.

With a strong showing at EWC 2026, the team secured fourth place, but that was the best they could muster in Tier 1 events. While they outlasted Xtreme Gaming, once again, at TI 2026, they did not survive much longer, as they were the first victim to the elimination round.

Only a few hours after this, the team was disbanded, as confirmed by a post on Weibo.

The players of the VG roster that have departed from the organisation are:

• Zhang “Bach” Ruida
• Zhao “XinQ” Zixing
• Zhang “y`” Yiping
• Yao “Yao” Zhengzheng (Coach)

This begins the post-TI shuffle period, where we could see many changes, especially from the CN region, following their poor results. As it stands, there are no further announcements from the players as to where they might end up or if this was their final attempt to claim the Aegis of Champions.
