“I actually really like it”: Tundra’s 33 on being the first to win on 7.41 patch, the target on their back, and a bad hotel shower

Moments after he lifted above his head the trophy at ESL One Birmingham 2026, Tundra’s captain Neta "33" Shapira sat down with us and shared his thoughts on the new patch, talked about how the drafting goes when playing the grand finals against former teammate Saksa, and the work ethic that has set his team apart.

33 also found time to address a matter almost as important as the victory itself: the state of the hotel shower.

Now that you are the first team lifting a trophy on the 7.41 patch, what are your thoughts, is this a good patch?

I like the patch. Usually, whenever they released the patches, I used to read them, and I just could not believe my eyes like what am I reading? Why are they doing this? Why are they doing that? It doesn't make any sense to me. But this patch, I actually really like it.

I feel like all the changes are very thoughtful and very smart. I do think there's still some number adjustments to be made and obviously some stuff is pretty overlooked, but I like the ideas behind the changes, so I'm happy with the patch.

Given your shared history, is it difficult to draft against Saksa?

I wouldn't say so, I think I know what they're gonna do, I know kind of how they think. Obviously, they also know what you're going to do; they also know us, but I guess it kind of just evens out, and I don't feel like there's a big difference either way.

What's the difference between you and the other teams? How do you keep winning so much?

I think we really, really wanted to win this season. We came into it with the idea that this year we are going to try as hard as we can, and we are not going to have fast things. We've been bootcamping I think, maybe more than any other teams. We didn't skip any tournament, and we're really putting in the work, and I think it's paying off.

You're 100% qualified for both TI and EWC. What's your plan for the rest of the season between now and those two big tournaments?

I guess it's the same for us. I think now we have some time off, maybe two weeks until the next PGL Wallachia. So, I guess we're gonna chill a bit for about two weeks. But we're going to try to keep at it.

Maybe we'll do one tournament from home, but other than that, we're just going to try to keep the same attitude we had towards the rest of the year. It doesn't really matter that you're invited to Riyadh or TI. We just want to focus on every tournament.

How do you feel going into those two biggest events of the year with a target on your back?

So far, I don't think we have managed to win two tournaments in a row. Every time we win a tournament, the next one is a bit of a questionable performance for us. So hopefully, this time we get to avoid it. But yeah, because every time we won a tournament, we lost the next one, the target on our back moved away a little bit. Will see how it goes this time.

What are you looking forward to right now?

I would like to take a good shower, but the hotel shower is really bad, so unfortunately, I’m not not gonna be able to have a nice, relaxing shower. But yeah, I think maybe we're gonna go out and get some drinks and just enjoy the win.
