TI champions Mira and Torontotokyo reunite at Aurora Gaming

Aurora Gaming will now compete in the Eastern Europe region with former Team Spirit TI champions Mira and Torontokyo reuniting under their banner.

Aurora Gaming is embarking on an exciting new chapter in their Dota 2 journey, transitioning from Southeast Asia to Eastern Europe with a completely revamped roster.

The organisation, which entered the Dota 2 scene in March 2022 with a star-studded SEA lineup, struggled to make an impact on the international stage despite its potential. After a series of roster changes and underwhelming results, Aurora disbanded their team in February 2024. Now, they are back with a full Eastern European lineup, headlined by the reunion of two The International (TI) champions, Myroslav "Mira" Kolpakov and Alexander "TORONTOTOKYO" Khertek.

Alongside former Team Spirit players, Aurora have also reunited former BetBoom players, Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko and Gleb “kiyotaka” Ziryanov.

Aurora Gaming roster

  • Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko
  • Gleb “kiyotaka” Ziryanov
  • Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek
  • Miroslaw “Mira” Kolpakov
  • Nikita “Panto” Balaganin

New role for TORONTOTOKYO

Aurora’s new roster brings also a new role for TORONTOTOKYO who will be playing in the offlane. This marks the second time that the TI champion makes a role swap. TORONTOTOKYO won The International 2021 with Team Spirit playing the midlane. In 2022 he swapped to position 4 support to fit in the BetBoom team line-up and played with them for two years before switching, not only the team but also the role.

Through his two years spent with BetBoom, TORONTOTOKYO reached multiple grand finals, but fell short of a championship title every time. He also qualified for two TIs with BetBoom, but a top 6 was the team’s best placement at the pinnacle Dota 2 tournament.

Aurora Gaming’s new roster is set to debut this month at PGL Wallachia Season 3. The $1,000,000 tournament will run from March 8 to 16 with a total of 16 teams gathered at the PGL studios from Bucharest, Romania. However, there will be no live audience through the entire tournament.
