The full list of playoff teams for EWC 2025 is confirmed after two tiebreakers
After two lengthy tiebreakers, the final standings for the Group Stage at the Esports World Cup Dota 2 tournament have been confirmed.
As the Group Stage of the Esports World Cup Dota 2 tournament came to an end, we were left with two tiebreakers. On one side, for Group C, Aurora Gaming and Tundra Esports found themselves in a deadlock for first place. Group D, on the other hand, would see PARIVISION and HEROIC battling it out for the second-place seeding.
After some major delays, the tiebreakers finally kicked off, giving us one final best-of-three from the last two groups at the EWC Group Stage.

A few tiebreakers were definitely to be expected at the Esports World Cup, especially with many big teams in each group. However, after we saw none from groups A and B, the final day of the Group Stage with groups C and D would end with a double dose of tiebreakers. Aurora and Tundra Esports would be the stars of the Group C set, with both stuck at 5-1 and needing a top seed for Group C.
Even with the tiebreakers, it was tough to separate these two juggernauts, as they went blow for blow once again in the first two games. The final decider was a close battle, too, but it came down to one major team fight to determine the victor. With minor skirmishes throughout the game, the sides remained relatively even, albeit with Aurora gaining a substantial net worth lead.
In a chaotic end to the game, both teams threw everything at one another, but Aurora’s upper hand came into play. Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko’s nearly unkillable Lifestealer was the star, as he just Raged through his opponents to secure the win and the top seed in Group C.
In Group D, it was expected that Team Liquid would be able to secure a perfect run through into the playoffs. With their final series of the Group Stage versus HEROIC, it was expected to be a clean sweep. However, HEROIC’s resolve came into play, as they managed to tie an epic series, taking a game off Liquid.
While Liquid was still the top seed for Group D, the 1-1 series meant that HEROIC and PARIVISION would need to fight for the second-place seed in the group. Much like the Group C series, it was another exhilarating tiebreaker. Going all three games again, the final match was a close encounter, that merely came down to PARIVISION’s growing net worth lead.
PARIVISION’s win does not help them avoid the entire elimination bracket, but it does put HEROIC in a precarious position, third place in Group D.
With that, the Group Stage of the EWC 2025 Dota 2 tournament ends, with 4 teams now qualified directly into the playoffs. Team Spirit, Team Liquid, BetBoom Team, and Aurora Gaming all head straight into the playoffs. The remaining 12 teams will now be settled into the elimination bracket, which begins on July 12th, with four eliminations coming our way.
Following that, another four teams will exit, leaving 8 teams to fight through the EWC playoffs and their share of the $3,000,000 prize pool on offer.
