Team Vision first to secure TI 2026 playoffs spot with deathless performance from Satanic

Both teams entered the match with clean 3-0 records in the Swiss system, but only one could leave with the distinction of being the first to book their spot in the Oriental Sports Center. Team Vision, widely regarded as the team to beat at TI 5, proved exactly why that label fits, delivering a masterclass performance that left Team Spirit with no answer.

Game one: Masterclass in map control

Vision answered Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk's Drow Ranger with a carry Nature's Prophet for Alan "Satanic" Gallyamov, complemented by Volodymyr "No[o]ne-" Minenko on a mid Earth Spirit. The draft was built for mobility and global presence, and Vision utilised it perfectly to corner Spirit in their base, and made sure they won’t give their adversaries the opportunity to make one their famous late-game comebacks.

By the 27-minute mark, the kill score was 21-5 in Vision's favor. Team Spirit attempted to flip the script with a smoke gank, utilising triple Black King Bars timing on their cores to force a fight. But Vision were well prepared. They re-initiated, killed four of Spirit's heroes, claimed an uncontested Roshan, and cruised to a clean, dominant game one victory.

Game two: Balanced on paper, dominant on screen

The second game looked far more balanced for the first 15 to 20 minutes. Yatoro opted to run back the Drow Ranger, last-picking it after seeing Vision's full draft. In theory, he had a much better matchup this time around. But theory and practice are two different things when facing Team Vision. Their coordination was once again spot on, with Satanic and No[o]ne leading the charge. Satanic finished the series with a flawless deathless performance, 18/0/30 KDA across both games. No[o]ne, on Earth Spirit in both matches, was equally oppressive, ending the series with just a single death to his name.

But even with their spotless series record through the group stage, Vision aren't getting ahead of themselves. In the post-series interview for the English broadcast, Andrey "Dukalis" Kuropatkin pointed out areas for improvement, noting that they connected poorly with their smokes in the second game against Spirit and said that they all are still adapting to China's time zone after travelling to Shanghai.

With the win over Team Spirit, Vision secured not only a spot in the playoffs, but also approximately five days of rest while most teams battle for two more days in the Swiss stage for a chance to join them.

As for Team Spirit, the two-time champions now need one more win to secure their own playoff spot. They'll return to action later today for a new shot at joining Vision in the Oriental Sports Center.
