The stars align as Nigma Galaxy welcomes back SumaiL
Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan makes his return to Nigma Galaxy, as the team make two big roster changes ahead of The International 2026 qualifiers.
Although they have not seen many great results recently, Nigma Galaxy were able to cruise into the Esports World Cup 2026 through the Middle East and Southwest Asia regional qualifiers. After Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan departed from the roster in March of this year, the team continued with Cedric “Davai” Deckmyn and Denys “rincyq” Bohushev joining the squad. However, with their EWC qualification secured, and The International 2026 qualifiers on the way, the organisation has made two big changes.
Sumail makes his return
Announced on June 8th, via the team’s X account, Nigma has confirmed that both Tony “No!ob” Assaf and rincyq will be departing from the roster. This announcement comes just two weeks before the team is set to begin their TI 2026 qualifier run in a tough EU region with four available spots. However, news on the replacements was quickly revealed.
Soon after the departures were announced, the team was filled, once more, with the confirmation of Artem “lorenof” Melnick taking on the position 2 role. Following this, came the announcement of Sumail’s return to the roster, as he joins in the carry role. This is now Sumail’s third stint with Nigma, and everyone will be hoping that the stars will finally align for the team.
The full new Nigma Galaxy roster is:
- Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan
- Artem “lorenof” Melnick
- Cedric “Davai” Deckmyn
- Omar “OmaR” Moughrabi
- Maroun “GH” Merhej
As TI qualifiers quickly approach, Nigma will be looking to secure one of the four slots available for EU in the next few weeks. For now, no news has been seen on where rincyq and No!ob might end up, or if they will find themselves part of any rosters for the upcoming open qualifiers.
