REKONIX brings in MinD_ContRoL as a trial coach
REKONIX takes a massive step to take control of the Southeast Asia Dota 2 scene as they bring in MinD_ContRoL as a coach.
REKONIX appeared on the Dota 2 scene almost a year ago, but their results have not been there just yet. Although they have managed to find their way into Tier 1 events recently through regional qualifiers, they have not been able to make it very far. With Gregorius “Sundabule” Prasetyo leaving as the teams coach a few days ago, it opened the door for a big change to be made, and today they have confirmed this change.
MinD_ContRoL moves to Southeast Asia
In a massive announcement, RKX announced that Ivan Borislavov “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov would be stepping in as their coach, albeit on a trial period. Having not been seen for some time in the Tier 1 professional Dota 2 scene, MinD_ContRoL now throws his hat back into the mix to try his hand at coaching. He will take the team through their upcoming foray at DreamLeague Season 29, as well as the 1WIN Showdown #1, which should cement his spot with the roster.
MinD_ContRoL has a long and storied history in Dota 2, most famously with Team Liquid for many years. However, he now follows in the footsteps of his former teammate, Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi, as he takes on the coaching role.
RKX still will have a long way to go if they want to make a stand against some of the best teams in the world at DreamLeague Season 29, but with MinD_ContRoL, they have their best chance yet.
We will see the Indonesian SEA roster in action at the event with their new coach in tow from May 13th, as they attempt to finally make it beyond the Group Stages and not be the first team eliminated. It will be interesting to see just what a coach of such a calibre can bring to the roster as they go in search of a few victories and possibly some crucial EPT Points prior to the Esports
