PlayTime has just begun as Natus Vincere are eliminated from DreamLeague Season 29
One of the most important series at DreamLeague Season 29 came today in an elimination series between Natus Vincere and PlayTime.
DreamLeague Season 29 is deep into its playoff stage, with three teams already eliminated after failing to win in the lower bracket on May 20th. With Team Liquid, Virtus.pro, and Vici Gaming’s run in the event over, the lower bracket turned its eyes to one of the most important series between two teams hoping for a direct invite to the Esports World Cup 2026. Natus Vincere and PlayTime.
A win for NAVI would see them secure the direct invite, while a victory for PT would see the rabbit hole go much deeper, as their opponents could still come out ahead in the long run.

Aggressive, fast, and deadly: PlayTime show the force of South American Dota 2
A fast start from PlayTime seemed to be the team’s bread and butter, no matter what their draft or the team they were up against. While Game 1 would see them get far ahead with the Máximo “Wits” Orozco Alza Necrophos, they had no real high ground pressure and eventually would succumb to a masterful performance from Artem “Niku” Bachkur’s Invoker.
Even after a loss, the Peruvian’s came out swinging once again, taking a massive lead in the early period of Game 2. This time, they were relentless, keeping the pressure up on NAVI and attempting to tie things up before any late-game resistance was seen. With Elvis Joel “Scofield” De la Cruz Peña’s Undying running rings around them, NAVI were broken early and had no way to repair the damage, as PT tied up the series.
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
This can definitely be applied to PT’s playstyle. In a decisive Game 3, with so much on the line, the team decided to take on a fast pace during the early game – as well as an Enigma. NAVI had no answer, once more. PT walked over their opponents, aggressively taking the fight to NAVI and never backing down. With a double-RAMPAGE to close out the series for Wits, PT survives another day at DreamLeague Season 29.
While they took the 2-1 victory, the South American team’s work is not yet done. To gain qualification to the EWC via a direct invite, the team would now need to take down BetBoom Team in their next matchup. Although eliminated from DreamLeague Season 29, NAVI’s fate for a direct invite to the EWC rested solely in the hands of BB Team.
