PGL Wallachia Season 7's upper bracket final is set

After a double dose of eliminations earlier in the day, PGL Wallachia Season 7 switched to the upper bracket where two teams secured a guaranteed top 3 finish.

It feels as though it has been ages since we have seen a full double-elimination bracket in Dota 2, but PGL Wallachia Season 7 has given us exactly that. While two teams met their tournament demise earlier in the day, two more would reach the upper bracket finals to close things out on Day 2 of the playoffs. BetBoom Team, Team Spirit, Team Yandex, and Team Liquid were a part of the fight, with two securing a guaranteed top 3 finish at the event by the end of the day.

A guarnteed top 3 finish for BetBoom Team and Team Yandex

BetBoom Team has really come into their own recently, although not managing to win any tournaments. The end of 2025 saw the team finish in fourth place at The International and at PGL Wallachia Season 6. Although 2026 has not been as promising, the team has shown a different side at Season 7, with dominant performances. That did not change today, as they took a massive win over Team Spirit. While Spirit managed to make the series interesting by taking things the distance, the final game was a beautiful draft and execution from BB Team.

With a Faceless Void, Mars, and Puck all creating the perfect combination for the final game, BB Team secured a 2-1 victory and became the first team in the upper bracket finals of PGL Wallachia Season 7. This secures the team a top 3 finish at the event, the best that they have had since the mid-point of last year beyond qualifiers.

Every series for Day 2 at PGL Wallachia Season 7 had gone the distance, but Team Yandex and Team Liquid changed that. Having weathered the first game of the series, with fantastic plays around the map, Yandex were quick to push Liquid into a corner in Game 2. With a snowball start, Liquid needed to find an answer, and it only came for a brief moment in the mid-game period. However, the response from Yandex shut Liquid down at every turn, leaving them in their dust.

As the series came to a close with a 2-0 win for Yandex, the team join BB Team in the upper bracket final for PGL Wallachia Season 7. Unfortunately for Liquid and Spirit, the lower bracket now awaits where their next series could make or break their tournament adventure. Tomorrow we will see the first grand finalist decided, as well as three more eliminations as we head towards the grand final on March 15th.
