PGL Wallachia Season 4 group stage has come to an end, cutting the 16 participating teams down to eight for the playoff stage. The Swiss format delivered quite a few dominating games, but also one stunning upset.

NAVI Junior eliminate Falcons with a stunning 2-0 score

The biggest shock of the group stage came from NAVI Junior. At their first-ever LAN appearance, NAVI Junior toppled Falcons 2-0 and eliminated them from the tournament. Unfortunately for Falcons, the entire group stage at PGL Wallachia S4 seemed to be a hustle to keep up with the hot meta picks. Their continuous search for answers to what other teams do led to a disastrous series against the young NAVI squad, and an unexpected early elimination in the last round of the Swiss format.

Aurora Gaming is another team that had to claw through the Swiss gauntlet, playing the maximum number of matches before sealing their playoff spot with a decisive 2-0 over Heroic.

At the same time, the ESL One Raleigh champions, PARIVISION, and the runners up, Team Spirit remained untouchable, both cruising through the group play with flawless 3-0 series records.

Team Tidebound: China’s lone survivor

China had two teams at the start of the tournament. Xtreme Gaming and Tidebound were looking to make a splash at PGL Wallachia S4, but mixed results through the first rounds of the group play forced them to go head-to-head with elimination on the line in round 5. It was Tidebound who prevailed and moved further into the tournament. Their first series in the playoffs pits them against the recent ESL One Raleigh champions, PARVISION.
