PARI Universe: BetBoom Team crumble in the tiebreakers

While the Group Stage of PARI Universe technically ended on Monday, October 26th, only one of the two groups was completed. Group B was done for only Team Spirit and PARIVISION, who secured first and second, respectively. However, the remaining three teams were all tied up at 1-3, leaving a day of tiebreakers to determine which team would be eliminated, and which two would progress into the playoffs.

Astra Invicta, BetBoom Team, and LEGION were a part of the final proceedings, where best-of-ones would be the deciding factor.

LEGION march on

LEGION has been a surprising stack in PARI Universe, producing some magnificent plays, albeit unable to win too often. However, today they showed up strong, even with Matheus "KJ" Santos Jungles Diniz coming on board for their tiebreakers. After taking down Astra once again, similar to their dominance in the Group Stage, LEGION’s final target was BB Team, who had beaten them just a day prior.

With BB Team losing to Astra, they needed to repeat their performance from the previous day, but they were unable to pull things together. LEGION steadily increased their advantage, until finally BB Team called GG, losing both their Bo1’s.

Although there was a chance to have extended tiebreakers, and a Shadowfiend 1v1 mid-lane duel, it never got that far. LEGION’s dominant tiebreaker performance secured them a spot in the playoffs of PARI Universe, while Astra survive another day. Unfortunately, BB Team joins 1w Team as the eliminations from each group. The playoffs are now set, and kick off on October 28th, with a double-elimination bracket giving every team a lifeline.
