Only two teams remain unbeaten after Day 2 of the Esports World Cup 2026

Day 2 of the Esports World Cup 2026 Dota 2 Group Stage gave teams a chance to redeem themselves or pull ahead.

After an interesting Day 1 at the Esports World Cup 2026 for Dota 2, Day 2 would see more action as every team went into their second series. For some, this was their chance to register their first win, others were hoping to make amends for a poor first day, while more would be hoping to surge ahead.

For those at the bottom of their respective group, although there was still a long Group Stage journey ahead, things would be starting to look dire – as elimination would be on the cards.

However, teams would also be hoping to claim the top spot and get a direct path into the Playoffs and avoid the Survival stage completely.

Group A: Xtreme Gaming shape up with Lone Druid

With a surprising game dropped to RuneEaters on Day 1, Xtreme Gaming managed to avoid further problems with a 2-0 over GamerLegion on Day 2. With the North American qualifiers leaving the Lone Druid open twice, XG obliged and grabbed the overpowered hero. Even when it seemed as though GL had some semblance of control, XG ripped it away and secured their first 2-0.

Elsewhere in Group A, both Team Falcons and BetBoom Team were also able to lock down their own first 2-0 victories over RE and Poor Rangers, respectively. This leaves 3 teams on a 3-1 scoreline in the standings, while PR have yet to record a win.

Group B: Level UP’s woes continue

As far as underdogs go, Level UP is definitely the team considered one in Group B. Unfortunately for the team, two extremely tough challenges were handed to them in the opening days of the EWC 2026 Dota 2 event. Their loss to Aurora Gaming on Day 1 was followed with another 0-2 on Day 2, with Team Liquid taking their first 2-0 win.

For the rest of Group B, we saw PTime and L1 Team play to a tie, while Nigma Galaxy showed up huge in Game 2 as they tied 1-1 with Aurora. Much like Group A, three teams find themselves at a 3-1 scoreline after 2 days, while one team sits in dangerous territory without a victory.

Group C: MOUZ on the mend

Yesterday MOUZ managed to take a game off the reigning champions, Team Spirit, in their first series of Group C. Although only ending in a draw, the team were in quite a slump recently, and this seemed to be the start of their comeback. Day 2 would see them complete a solid 2-0 victory over REKONIX, leaving the Southeast Asian squad at the bottom of the group with Team Nemesis.

PVISION changed the par for the course, being one of two teams to go 4-0 after two days of EWC 2026. A dominant performance saw them stomp Vici Gaming, while Spirit completed a sweep of Nemesis to wrap up the group.

Group D: LGD Gaming keep climbing

LGD Gaming has definitely been the talk of the times recently, as the organisation returned to Dota 2 and picked up the ex-HEROIC roster. Going up against OG on Day 2, they managed to secure a 2-0 victory, adding to their tied Day 1 series. Building on their recent brilliance through qualifiers and second-place finish at BLAST Slam VII, LGD will be hoping to show the EWC just how strong South American Dota 2 is.

While Inner Circle x Insanity would end up being yet another team at 0-4, handed a defeat by Team Yandex, Day 2 closed with Virtus.pro and 1w going head-to-head. Unfortunately for VP, they were unable to make a dent in the 1w drafts, eventually succumbing 0-2 and leaving them in dangerous territory when it comes to the standings.

With that, Day 2 of the Dota 2 Group Stage at the EWC 2026 comes to an end. Tomorrow, we reach the halfway point of this stage, as teams scramble for some crucial victories in hopes of avoiding certain elimination.
