After a couple of years of struggle and instability of their main Western European Dota 2 team, OG is looking to regain some of its fame through South America.

OG.LATAM features some of the best players from Peru, who previously competed under the beastcoast (now M80) and HEROIC banners. More recently, the roster played under the Perrito Panzon without any sponsor to back them up and clinched a spot at the upcoming DreamLeague Season 26.

Although they currently don’t have a full roster for their main team, OG announced that their LATAM division would be the secondary squad. This is not the first time that OG would be testing the waters with a secondary line-up from which they might form a main team. Following their unmatched successful 2018 and 2019 The International campaigns, when they became the only team to claim the most wanted trophy in the Dota 2 scene back to back, OG built a varsity team, OG.Seed. However, Valve’s Dota Pro Circuit rule book from back then prevented them from running two teams at full capacity, and the project was eventually put aside.

Although they are one of the most legendary organisations in the scene, OG struggled greatly over the past couple of years. They haven’t won a Tier 1 tournament since 2022, and in the current season, they fell short in seven out of eight qualifier campaigns for Tier 1 events. Their only LAN appearance in 2025 was at PGL Wallachia Season 3, where they got eliminated in 15th-16th place.

Moving forward, the attention will switch to OG.LATAm, who are expected to bootcamp in Lisbon at the Sunflower house and prepare for DreamLeague Season 26. The tournament boasts a one million dollar’ prize pool and is set to unfold May 19 - June 1, 2025, with 16 teams at the starting line.
