OG's TI 2026 run comes to an end after a crushing 0-2 loss to GamerLegion in the Group Stage.
OG The International

The International 2026 has claimed its second victim, with OG eliminated from the tournament after a crushing 0-2 loss to GamerLegion.

Following HULIGANI's elimination at the hands of OG earlier today, the two teams entered the series with identical 1-3 records and no room left for another loss. Their individual game records told a slightly different story, however. OG sat at 2-7 across their nine games, while GamerLegion had managed a more competitive 4-6 despite finding themselves in the same elimination series.

OG at least had some momentum on their side after surviving against HULIGANI just a few hours earlier, but GamerLegion entered the matchup as the favourites. It didn't take long for their differences to show.

GamerLegion leave OG with nowhere to go

GamerLegion took a considerable lead early in Game 1 as things quickly began to fall apart across the map for OG.

All three lanes went badly, and a difficult draft left OG with few answers once they fell behind. GamerLegion simply outplayed them, building on their advantage while OG increasingly looked like a team that had little left in the tank after a difficult Group Stage.

With their tournament lives now resting on Game 2, OG needed something to change...instead, things got worse.

GamerLegion brought out the increasingly popular Centaur Warrunner mid for RCY, a pick that has been showing up lately and one RCY looked comfortable on. OG responded with Slardar, which had previously been used as an answer to the hero at the event —with no success — and the pick did little to solve their problems. While it helped round out some of OG's other lanes, their draft once again felt reactionary compared to a GamerLegion lineup that looked to have gotten exactly what it wanted.

More importantly, OG needed to win those lanes for their draft to work which had not been one of their strengths lately.

Game 2 quickly turned into a disaster, and there was no comeback waiting this time. GamerLegion completed the 2-0 sweep and brought OG's run at The International 2026 to an end.

OG go home, GamerLegion fight another day

For OG, the loss closes a difficult TI run with a 1-4 series record, their only victory coming against HULIGANI in the day's opening elimination match. It also leaves Southeast Asia without its sole representative at the tournament.

GamerLegion, meanwhile, keep North America's hopes alive for at least one more day. They advance to Sunday's Elimination Round, where they will have one final best-of-three standing between them and a spot in the playoffs.

The International continues throughout Saturday, with one more team still to be eliminated, while the other end of the standings will see two teams punch their tickets directly to the playoffs.
