LGD Gaming's new roster sees SumaiL return to the front lines

In a surprising turn of events, Sumail has kept going with his amazing Dota 2 career, as LGD Gaming's new roster steps forward.

The International 2026 is now a thing of the past, but the stories from the event will remain with us forever. One such story came in the form of Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan hinting that it would be his “last event”. However, in the time since then, as the brilliant player has now had some time to think over things, it seems his decision is to remain active competitively in Dota 2.

As PGL Wallachia Season 9 is about to kick off, multiple teams have revamped their rosters, including LGD Gaming.

LGD Gaming keep it international

After their brief stint with a South American roster plus Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen at TI 2026, LGD moved on, ready to keep their return to Dota 2 going. While it was expected that we would see the famed Chinese organisation return with an all-CN roster, this is far from the case. While not officially announced as yet, PGL Wallachia Season 9 shows the new LGD roster, which could cause some excitement for many Dota 2 fans.

The most interesting addition is Sumail, with everyone expecting him to have ended his professional tenure after the exit of Nigma Galaxy at TI 2026. He now returns to the fray, under the banner of a CN organisation for the second time in his career – having played with Team Aster for a short period in 2023.

Another TI winning addition is Jingjun "Sneyking" Wu, the ex-Team Falcons support. With the Falcons organisation leaving the game behind, and player from the roster going separate ways, Sneyking finds himself under a CN banner for a second time as well. Back in 2019, when Forward Gaming disappeared, the team were picked up by Newbee for TI.

The team is rounded out by three players also with their own strengths, and well-known throughout the Dota 2 community. Thiago "Thiolicor" de Oliveira Cordeiro, Máximo "Wits" Orozco Alza, and Cedric "Davai" Deckmyn all join the new team. Interestingly, the team will also have another TI winner in place as their coach - Kanishka "BuLba" Sosale.

The full new LGD roster is:

  • Máximo "Wits" Orozco Alza
  • Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan
  • Cedric "Davai" Deckmyn
  • Thiago "Thiolicor" de Oliveira Cordeiro
  • Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu
  • Kanishka "BuLba" Sosale (coach)

This team, on paper, looks extremely promising, and could become contenders in a new season that currently seems very fragmented. We will get to see LGD in action in just a short time when PGL Wallachia Season 9 kicks off.
