The time for recovery has passed and The International 2025 should be the stage for HEROIC to show all its splendor.
This will be HEROIC's second participation in The International. The Norwegian organization entered the Dota 2 arena at the beginning of 2024, signing a squad of South American players, and has enjoyed success in TI since its first year of existence. The three players who led HEROIC to TI last year are still on the team and will be looking to improve on their 9th/12th place finish at TI 2024.
João Gabriel**"4nalog**" Santos, Elvis**"Scofield**" Pena and Matheus**"KJ**" Diniz have been the backbone of HEROIC. They have been part of the team from the beginning and have accompanied the organization through all its ups and downs. Under the HEROIC banner, they won the first Dota 2 championship not only for the organization, but for the entire South American scene. This happened last October, when they won the PGL Wallachia Season 2 trophy in Bucharest, Romania.
Much time has passed since then and, throughout 2025, HEROIC seemed to be in continuous recovery mode.
The "Taming the Beast" project had failed.
"Winning a tournament should give you confidence, but sometimes players take it the wrong way and inflate expectations," 4nalog told BLAST a few weeks after winning his first Level 1 tournament . The disappointment of one particular player caused internal problems in the team," he added. *he added.
In the month between PGL Wallachia Season 2 and BLAST Slam I, HEROIC went from champion to being eliminated in the group stage of DreamLeague Season 24 and missing out on qualifying for ESL One Bangkok 2024. The player 4nalog mentioned in his BLAST interview was Parker. Despite being a talented player, Parker had a hard time adapting not only to HEROIC, but to all of his teams before and after HEROIC. After the Bangkok playoffs, he remained on the HEROIC bench.
Yuma "Yuma" Langlet replaced him at BLAST I, where HEROIC immediately qualified for the top eight. After this event, Yuma became a full member of the team, but the problems did not end there, and in 2025, HEROIC was replaced by Cedric "Let's Lama" Dekmin, who also seemed too intense at times, even for the SA spirit. His place on the starting line was taken by Adrian**"Wisper**" Dobles, and so HEROIC began its journey to TI 2025 with a full South American team.

Helping each other
Visper joined HEROIC after spending a year in Europe with OG. The time spent on another continent, adopting a different culture and learning a new language, was described as "difficult" by teammate KJ, who in an interview with P GL said the team also had to figure out how to coach a talented player like Visper. In addition, Visper himself will have to learn to relax and make himself at home, having returned to South Africa with a bit of post-traumatic stress, KJ joked.
All in all, HEROIC is taking its time to rebuild and recreate the strong bonds necessary for the team to function as a well-oiled machine.
It's no secret that any SA team lacks consistency. Heroics is no different, but according to 4nalog, their inconsistency is at the individual level and not at the macro level of play, strategy and draft picks."Each player has to identify their inconsistency and work on it." While Heroics is not always bad, we have had some disappointing performances in tournaments. We have to figure out what makes us better and brings us consistency, and we are actively working on that," 4analog told BLAST.
HEROIC has been in and out of IT in recent months. They have gone from being in the top four to the middle and bottom of the pack. Now is the time to focus and prepare for the championship. They are all experienced players, capable of beating any team on a good day, and if they can contain their emotions in TI 2025, maybe we'll see them in the playoffs and on the Barclays Arena stage.
