HEROIC entered the quarterfinals in Singapore with a 3-0 game record over Aurora Gaming in the new season and advanced to the semifinals by extending that to 5-0. They started the best-of-three series with a one-sided first game as Adrian "Wisper" Dobles set up the tone by completely dominating the mid lane with a Leshrac. At the same time, their offlane had also had a perfect lane, which translated to a flawless victory over an Aurora that lacked synergy between their heroes and had no real options at building a comeback strategy.

Game two looked much more even, although HEROIC were running a zoo-type line-up with Chen, Beastmaster, and a Helm of the Dominator on the offlane Centaur Warruner. Aurora made sure to prevent getting swarmed by picking Jakiro, Queen of Pain and Svben, heroes with great AoE spells that can clear the summons. They also had great initiation power and superior vision with a position 4 Bounty Hunter capable of scouting ahead.

The Rampage that wasn't enough

But despite all these tools, Aurora let HEROIC secure three Roshan kills and take control of the map. Their best option to stay alive in the tournament was to mount a comeback with a strong high-ground defense, and it almost worked. They even secured a rampage on Sven 34 minutes into the game as they marched toward HEROIC’s base, but that still wasn't enough. Three minutes later, HEROIC were able to wipe out Aurora and secure a spot in the semifinals.

While Aurora exits the tournament in the top 6, HEROIC will return to the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Saturday to play against Falcons for a spot in the grand finals.
