ESL One makes Munich debut in 2027

ESL has announced that ESL One Munich will take place April 4–11, 2027, at BMW Park in Munich.

The event will mark the first time the long-running Dota 2 tournament series heads to the Bavarian capital and will serve as the culmination of the 2026/27 EPT season, with 16 of the world's best teams competing. Six teams will receive direct invites based on EPT points, while the remaining 10 will earn their spots through regional qualifiers. Only one will lift the trophy as the 2027 ESL One Champions.

New arena, new mascot

ESL One Munich follows ESL One Birmingham 2026, which the organiser highlighted as a strong event thanks to fans and players at the BP Pulse Live arena. However, for 2027, ESL wants to push further. The TO described BMW Park's full LED floor as "a dream come true".

BMW Park is primarily a basketball arena with courtside seating, a VIP section, higher-quality seats in better locations with better views, plus private bathrooms and a bar, ESL said. These will be offered to Premium and Ultimate ticket buyers. Selecting a mascot was a lengthy debate, ESL revealed on X. Invoker, the Arsenal Magus, was deemed a good fit for an arena with a full LED floor, given his array of spells.

Reserved seats introduced for the first time

Citing fan feedback from previous events, ESL is introducing reserved seats for the first time.

  • Upper Ranks tickets remain free seating for fans who prefer to roam or want the best-value option.
  • Upper Central, Premium, and Ultimate ticket types will trial reserved seats.
  • The total number of tickets per purchase has been increased to 12 to accommodate larger groups.

Tickets for ESL One Munich go on sale November 5 at 3pm CET, with weekend passes ranging from €129 for Upper Ranks free seating up to €429 for the Ultimate ticket.

The Ultimate ticket includes the best experience available: reserved Premium seating, access to a private space with a bar and bathrooms, priority access to signing sessions, the ESL One+ Upgrade with a goodie bag valued at €235, and 6 free drink vouchers per day (18 total).

Premium weekend tickets cost €369 and include reserved Premium seating plus the ESL One+ Upgrade, while Upper Central reserved seating in the central blocks is €229.

For the fans who can't attend all three days, single-day tickets are available for the Upper Ranks: €69 for Friday (quarterfinals), €89 for Saturday (semifinals), and €99 for Sunday (Grand Final day). An ESL One+ Upgrade is available for all ticket types at €99, featuring a goodie bag with an event hoodie, tee, collectible coin, socks, pin button, and tote bag.
