DreamLeague Season 27 gives Team Yandex their first championship trophy
With their second grand finals showing of December 2025, Team Yandex has become the champions of DreamLeague Season 27.
The final day of DreamLeague Season 27 was upon us, and waiting in the grand finals was already Team Yandex, having battered Team Spirit to get there. However, with the lower bracket finals on the way, Spirit would be looking at a chance of revenge, if they could take down a strong PARIVISION.
With a 2-0 sweep of PV, Spirit got their chance, leaving their opponents with a strong third place finish to close out 2025. But, with that, all eyes looked to a huge grand final, with Spirit taking on Yandex, with the winner being crowned as the DreamLeague Season 27 champion.
Team Yandex executes an amazing grand finals performance
In their only previous meeting, Spirit crushed Yandex 2-0. However, that was during FISSURE PLAYGROUND #2 a few months back, and since then Yandex were on a whole new level. Recently, the team has shown their dominance, already having taken down Spirit in the upper bracket finals. However, Spirit came into the series looking for revenge, and absolutely destroyed their opponent in Game 1. Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk’s Phantom Assassin carved Yandex apart as Spirit took the lead.
Game two would see a complete turnaround, with an unkillable monster Tidehunter from Evgeniy “Noticed” Ignatenko, as well as Alimzhan “watson” Islambekov’s brilliant Kez. Another marvellous game followed, with Yandex taking championship point in only 25-minutes. With their backs against the wall, Spirit needed to find a way back into the series, with only Game 1 to reflect on. Unfortunately, it was not to be the case, with Yandex being absolutely perfect in their play. Playing safely and decisively, taking down Spirit at every turn, Yandex destroyed their opponents.
With that, DreamLeague Season 27 comes to a close, as does the 2025 Dota 2 year, with yet another new winner recorded. For Yandex, this marks their first victory of a tier 1 tournament, as they set themselves up for an amazing 2026. In the space of a few months, the team has appeared in the top 3 constantly, finally making it to first place to close out the year.
