BB Team destroy Nigma Galaxy's hopes of becoming champions at EWC 2026

With the final series of the Esports World Cup 2026 quarterfinals, we got to witness an amazing series between two tournament favourites: BB Team (BetBoom Team), and Nigma Galaxy. While Nigma had topped Group B, meaning they had last played on stage 6 days ago, BB had conquered LGD Gaming in the Survival Stage only a few days back.

Having seen Team Falcons already struggle after such a long break between series, BB followed suit and were quick to assert dominance and pummel their opponent.

Kiritych carries BB Team to victory

With a magnificent Group Stage performance, many fans of Nigma, and Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan, were hoping that the stars were finally beginning to align for the squad. Unfortunately, this series would prove to be anything but that for the team, with BB showing why they remain one of the tournament favourites. A masterclass Naga Siren from Ilya “Kiritych” Ulyanov in Game 1 would see him peak at a 1068 gold per minute, dying only once just prior to Nigma’s GG call.

It was a much slower paced second game, with BB gaining an early lead but stagnating a bit due to Nigma’s pickoffs across the map. However, BB began to pull ahead again, with great plays from the team to constantly keep Kez safe. With a Rampage coming through for after a long wrap around smoke play from BB, Nigma’s hopes faded away, as they called the GG and were eliminated from the EWC 2026.

With the quarterfinals over, only four teams remained at the event, and come tomorrow, two of them will book a spot in the grand finals for a chance to become champions of the EWC 2026. BB Team’s next challenger will be Vici Gaming, while Team Yandex and PVISION will battle it out in the other semifinal series.
