Ame is the sole surviving member of Xtreme Gaming's roster shuffle

One of the biggest roster shake-ups in the shuffle period has just been announced, as Xtreme Gaming keep only Ame on their lineup.

Following The International, we are usually greeted with a few big roster changes, as teams prepare for the next season of their Dota 2 journeys. While we have been hit with Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan and Kurtis "Aui_2000" Ling hanging up their proverbial gloves, the announcement from Xtreme Gaming is the curveball that we probably all saw coming.

Xtreme Gaming is down to just one member, as it seems that they will be rebuilding their roster around Wang “Ame” Chunyu.

From one Xtreme to another

Ever since being the runners up to TI 2025 in that thrilling grand final against Team Falcons, something has been amiss with Xtreme Gaming. With the addition of Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang, Xu “fy” Linsen, and Yap “xNova” Jian Wei to the squad, there were high expectations. Unfortunately for the team, these were not met by any stretch. With only a top 3 placement at ESL One Birmingham 2026 to write home about, they looked to the Esports World Cup and The International to excite their fans.

EWC was a disaster, but what followed at TI cannot be put into words.

Although no Chinese teams made it through to the playoffs on their home soil in Shanghai, XG clearly had glaring problems.

Now, a few weeks before the new season is set to get underway, the roster has seen a massive overhaul. This was something that many expected, but not in such a dramatic fashion.

Announced via the organisation’s Weibo account, XG will be seeing one of the craziest roster shuffles. NTS, fy, xNova, as well as Lin “Xxs” Jing and coach Zhang “LaNm” Zhicheng, have all departed from the squad, leaving only Ame as the sole survivor.

As it stands, there have been no further announcements or confirmations of who will be joining the carry into the new season under the XG banner.

We will have to wait and see just what XG have in store for us in the coming months, but they will have a long road to match the power of their departed players, that seemingly did not click together when it mattered the most.
