Wildcard overcome their rivals, booking a spot at The International 2025

Wildcard has secured the North American qualifier slot for The International 2025, finally taking down Shopify Rebellion.

Another spot for The International 2025 has been filed, with the North American qualifier ending with a spectacular grand final between Shopify Rebellion and Wildcard. The qualifiers included 6 teams that came through from the open division, while Wildcard and Shopify Rebellion were directly invited. With that done, now only 4 spots remain to complete the full roster of teams for TI 2025.

Wildcard finally take down their archrivals

NA’s qualifier for TI 2025 offered the region a single slot at the event. This means that the winner of the qualifier would be the only team representing the region at the event, hoping to claim the Aegis of Champions for NA. With WC and Shopify consistently being at the top of the rankings for their region, it was fully accepted that they would be the two grand finalists.

It was a blistering grand final, with both teams going back and forth with wins. WC started strong, with a crushing victory in game one. However, SR were quick to respond with a dominant performance of their own. Game four was a brilliant one through a series that was filled with one-sided affairs.

While WC were in a great position to close out the series, SR fought hard to turn the game completely around. Eventually, with the series tied at 2-2, everything went down to one last battle. Unfortunately for SR, it was another one-sided one, where WC were miles ahead.

Having constantly been on the losing side when facing SR through multiple events and qualifiers, Wildcard were finally able to record a victory. This win is possibly one of the most important, as it secures the team a spot at The International 2025. Although the Esports World Cup is out of their reach, PGL Wallachia Season 5 is on their radar in the coming weeks.
