Monte claim NAVI's bounty and send them home - BLAST Bounty day two

rainwaker and Bymas looked like players with a point to prove as they powered an unfancied Monte to an opening win over NAVI.

rainwaker in particular showed up with a remarkable 1v3 to close out an emphatic comeback on Mirage and push the series to Dust 2, where Monte ran over NAVI in convincing fashion to eliminate them from contention.

b1t had his moments through the series but it was otherwise quite lacklustre from NAVI, with no massive underperformances individually but nothing special either, which is both how they win and how they lose, generally. This was simply just an under-par performance from a top team in less than ideal circumstances, and it'd be unfair to draw any massive conclusions.

Gizmy had a big map on Dust 2 as well in the deciding map, awakening to post a 21-11 scoreline and kill any last hope NAVI had.

This was an impressive win, but it's still just an online event and the first of the year, so while we'd like to get overexcited we'll hang back for now.

Major champions Vitality looked comfortable as they effortlessly swatted aside Virtus.pro in two.

ZywOo was in sharp form as per usual, and even with ropz having a bit of an off-day it was never really in doubt. tO0RO fought as well as he could against the unstoppable tide, but the depth of Vitality's rifle arsenal is unmatchable.

VP picked up 7 of an available 21 CT rounds, which is never a good sign, albeit with the caveat that 12 of them were on the notoriously tough Dust 2. They won't be too disheartened by the loss, as getting beat up by Vitality happens, and frankly, 14 rounds over two maps isn't too bad.

GamerLegion overcame a one map deficit to deal a fatal blow to Passion UA, with a surprisingly big performance from much-maligned AWPer hypex on Mirage. We're none-the-wiser as to how good Passion UA or GamerLegion truly are, and both probably sit around the 15-20th mark at the moment.

Friendly Campers, on the other hand, seem a bit worse than that. They got spanked by HEROIC with xfl0ud grabbing more kills than their two top fraggers combined. "Cheers NRG, you really helped us out there."
